A/C System Troubleshooting (Pg 3)

HFC 134a A/C TROUBLE SHOOTING I (REFRIGERATION CIRCUIT ... For Insufficient Cooling . Unusual Pressure)

A/C Bad Phenomenon A/C Pressure Condition Other Bad Phenomenon Result of Diagnosis (Primary Cause) Causes Counter Measures
Insufficient cooling --------------- Normal air flow condition Icing of TXV Water in refrigeration circuit Replace R/D, charge regulated amount of refrigerant after evacuation
Insufficient cooling Normal pressure Outlet air temperature is high (refrigeration circuit is normal condition) --------------- Fresh air leaks into evaporator case inspite of recirculation mode Readjust fresh / recirculation air's switching damper
--------------- Air is warmed by heater (due to malfunctioned water flow control valve, or heat air leaks into evaporator case, or air mix damper is not fully closed) Check and adjust water valve and air mix damper
--------------- Thermostat operating temperature is not properly Check mechanical thermostat, thermistor, electric thermo amplifier, thermo variable resistor
Outlet air temperature is normally cold, but air flow volume is small --------------- Evaporator coil fin is stuffed Clean evaporator coil or replace evaporator coil
--------------- Blower motor speed is slow Check or replace blower motor
--------------- Blower intake is stuffed Check and repair blower intake
